The PE and Sport Premium is additional funding provided by the government to primary schools to improve the quality of physical education (PE), sport, and physical activity for all pupils.
At our school, we are committed to ensuring every child develops a love of physical activity and understands the importance of leading a healthy, active lifestyle.
Our goal is to provide high-quality PE and sporting opportunities that inspire pupils to be active, build confidence, and develop lifelong healthy habits.
Schools are required to publish how the PE and Sport Premium is spent and the impact it has on pupils. Details of our spending and its impact can be found in the documents below.
We use some of our PE & Sport Grant to fund our pupils' swimming lessons. Living by the sea, we realise it is an important skill for pupils to be able to swim confidently and independently, and many parents also recognise this by taking their children for swimming lessons outside of school time.
We do not have a pool, so we take our Year 6 children to the local leisure centre for a block of 10 swimming lessons during the first 2 terms of the year. We have found this to be the most efficient and productive way for them to experience this important learning. The table below shows the impact of lessons on their ability.
